other的正確用法與中文解釋

When Americans moved from one place to another, they took their dialects with them.
當美國人從一個地方遷移到另一個地方時，他們帶著他們的方言。
other指另外的人或物;other泛指別人，可與some連用;the other 指兩個中的另一個，常和one連用;the others表示其余所有的人或物;another則泛指另一個。
other做形容詞
other 可以做形容詞，表示其他的，比如other people其他的人。
也可以做代詞，但是做代詞時一般不以原形出現(xiàn)，一般用以"the other"或者以復(fù)數(shù)形式“others”出現(xiàn)。
others
和some對比使用時, 是“有些”的意思而不是做“其他”講, 如:Some cleaned the windows, others mopped the floor. 有的擦窗戶, 有的擦地板。
the others
是“其余的”意思, 表示在一個范圍內(nèi)的其他全部, 如: This dictionary is better than the others. 這本字典比別[其余]的好。
the other
是其中的“另一個” 如:Give me the other one; not this one. 給我那一個, 不是這一個。
兩個中的“另一個”是“the other”; 不定數(shù)目中的“另一個”是“another” , 如:This glass is broken. Get me another. 這個杯子壞了, 給我另拿一個來。(在許多杯子中的一個)
others ,the others，other,the other和another other及其變化形式在初中教材中多次出現(xiàn)，而且它的變化形式很多，有以下幾種：the other, others, the others, another 等。它們的用法現(xiàn)歸納如下;
other
other可作形容詞或代詞，做形容詞時，意思是“別的，其他”，泛指“其他的(人或物)”。如： Do you have any other question(s)? 你還有其他問題嗎? Ask some other people. 問問別人吧! Put it in your other hand. 把它放在你另一只手里。單數(shù)
the other
the other指兩個人或物中的一個時二分之一,，只能用the other，不能用another，此時的other作代詞。如：
He has two daughters. One is a nurse, the other is a worker.
他有兩個女兒，一個是護士，另一個是工人。
the other后可加單數(shù)名詞，也可加復(fù)數(shù)名詞，此時的other作形容詞。如：
On the other side of the street，there is a tall tree.
在街道的另一邊，有一棵大樹。
Mary is much taller than the other girls.
瑪麗比其他的女孩高得多。
He lives on the other side of the river.
他住在河的對岸。
others
others是other的復(fù)數(shù)形式，泛指“另外幾個”，“其余的”。在句中可作主語、賓語。如：
Some of us like singing and dancing, others go in for sports.
我們一些人喜歡唱歌和跳舞，其余的從事體育活動。
Give me some others, please.
請給我別的東西吧!
There are no others.
沒有別的了。
the others
the others意思是“其他東西，其余的人”。特指某一范圍內(nèi)的“其他的(人或物)”。是the other的復(fù)數(shù)形式。如：
Two boys will go to the zoo, and the others will stay at home.
兩個男孩將去動物園，其余的留在家里。
the others=the other +復(fù)數(shù)名詞，這在第2條中已經(jīng)有所介紹。
another
another=an+ other，既可作形容詞，也可作代詞，只能用于三個或更多的人或物，泛指同類事物中的三者或三者以上的“另一個”，大于等于三分之一，只能代替或修飾單數(shù)可數(shù)名詞。如：
I don’t like this one. Please show me another.
我不喜歡這一個，請給我看看另一個。
I have three daughters. One is a nurse, another is a teacher and another is a worker.
我有三個女兒。一個是護士，另一個是教師，還有一個是工人。

other、others和the others的區(qū)別與搭配
1、從是否確指來看
other和others均表示不確指意義，其中other后可以修飾名詞，而others后不能再接名詞，兩者的關(guān)系可描述為：others=other+復(fù)數(shù)名詞。如： He never thinks of others. 他從來不為別人著想。
I don’t like these books. Show me some others. 我不喜歡這些書，再拿一些給我看。
第一句中的others=other people，意為“其他人”“別人”，泛指其他所有人;第二句中的others=other books，意為“其他的書”。
但是，若要表示確指意義，我們就在other和others前面使用定冠詞，同樣地，other后可以修飾名詞，而others后不能再接名詞，兩者的關(guān)系仍然存在the others=the other+復(fù)數(shù)名詞。如：
I started last in the race but I soon caught up with the others. 我在賽跑中最后一個起跑，但不久就趕上了其他人。
句中的the others=the other people，意為“其他人”，其中的定冠詞特指參加賽跑的所有其他人。
注意：the other后除接復(fù)數(shù)名詞外，還可以接單數(shù)名詞，此時不能用the others代替。如：
This seat is free; the other seat is taken. 這個座位空著，那個座位有人。
2、常用慣用表達
①one...the other表示“(兩者中的)一個„„另一個„„”。如： What I say goes in at one ear and out at the other. 我說話他是一只耳朵進，另一只耳朵出。
?、趏ne...the others表示“(好幾個中的)一個„„其余都„„”。如： Of their five children, one is in China and the others are abroad. 他們有五個小孩，一個在中國，其余的都在國外。
注：若為三者，想要表示“一個„„另一個„„剩下的一個„„”，可用one...another...the other [the third...];若為四者，可用one...another...another [a third]...the other [the fourth, the last]。 ③some...the others表示“一些„„其他一些的„„”。如：
The search party was divided into two groups. Some went to the right, the others went to the left. 搜尋小組一分為二，一部分向右，另一部分人向左。

Some people build while others destroy. 有些人建設(shè)而另一些人則破壞。 注：該結(jié)構(gòu)也可說成some„some。如：
