　　具體來說，就是用2/3甚至更長的時(shí)間詳細(xì)闡述(elaborate)一個(gè)主要理由(方面)，而又用1/3甚至更短的時(shí)間隨便再加上一個(gè)理由(方面)。

　　比如，我的一位學(xué)生在考場上遇到的題目是這樣的：

　　Which season do you like most? Why?

　　這位同學(xué)的回答干脆、簡潔而又樸素：

　　I like winters most…

　　之后提供了一個(gè)理由：

　　… because there’s no mosquitoes in winters.

　　接下來說的大抵上都與蚊子有關(guān)(以下是該考生事后的回憶轉(zhuǎn)述)：

　　夏天的時(shí)候，蚊子們非?？膳拢覀冏≡?9樓它們竟然也飛得上來。每天晚上睡覺前全家三口人都要想辦法滅蚊子，可是用盡了各種手段也做不到消滅每一只蚊子。到了半夜，我總是被蚊子鬧醒，每天都睡不好。我就感覺那些文字恨不得把我生生吃掉2 ……可是早上醒來，卻發(fā)現(xiàn)爸爸媽媽都沒事兒，真不知道蚊子們?yōu)槭裁醋侄Ｎ乙粋€(gè)人……

　　其實(shí)這位同學(xué)在考場上只這個(gè)理由就沒有說完，剛說到“早上醒來卻發(fā)現(xiàn)爸爸……”的時(shí)候，已經(jīng)45秒鐘用盡了。最終，這位同學(xué)的口語部分成績是29分3 。

　　假設(shè)這位同學(xué)把這一個(gè)理由(方面)全都說完了之后發(fā)現(xiàn)剛剛用掉35秒鐘，還有10來秒鐘，那怎么辦?很簡單，接著說“In addition, …”然后再隨便加上一個(gè)理由--這么做的思考壓力實(shí)際上要比一口氣說出三個(gè)理由小得多。比如后面可以接著說：

　　還有就是冬天會下雪，下雪的時(shí)候整個(gè)世界都會變得非常美麗，一切都顯得那么純潔……

　　其實(shí)，這個(gè)理由(方面)幾乎注定是說不完的，因?yàn)闊o論如何時(shí)間分配給它的時(shí)間都太短。但這并無所謂，因?yàn)樗龅囊磺幸呀?jīng)足夠滿足口語考試的評分標(biāo)準(zhǔn)。

　　而托福口語考試的后四道題，都是在考核考生的“復(fù)述能力”。
