高二下英語知識點：still, quiet, silent
(1) still用作形容詞，意為“靜止的，不動的，平靜的”。
keep (stay) still 保持不動
lie (stand) still 躺著(站著)不動
a still lake / evening
平靜的湖/寂靜的夜晚
用作副詞，表示“還，仍舊”，可以修飾形容詞、副詞比較級。
be still busy 仍然很忙
win still greater success 取得更火成功
(2) still 側(cè)重“一動不動”，quiet指“安靜”，無動作，無聲音，無騷亂，其反義詞是noisy (吵鬧的、喧嘩的);
silent 指不出聲，不說話。
對比：sit still 坐著不動
Be quiet, and the class will begin.
請安靜，馬上就要開始上課了。
Hearing the answer, he was silent for a minute ormore.
聽了回答之后，他沉默了一兩分鐘。
高二下英語知識點：become, get, grow, turn
become, get, grow, turn, 這幾個詞都可以表示“變成”或“成為”的意思。
(1) become 強調(diào)變化過程的完成，強調(diào)狀態(tài)的變化。
You'll become wiser as you grow older.
隨著年齡的增長，你會變得更睿智的。
(2) get 強調(diào)造成事件的施動者的作用或變化的結(jié)果。
We had better get started at once.
我們最好馬上開始。
(3) grow 表示漸漸成為新的狀態(tài)，或表示從某種狀態(tài)向其對立的狀態(tài)變化的自然現(xiàn)象，強調(diào)變化的過程。
The crowd grew more and more excited as they were waiting the time for the launch of the satellite.
隨著火箭發(fā)射時間的到來，等待的人群變得越來越興奮了。
(4) turn 指轉(zhuǎn)變成為與原來完全不同的事物，強調(diào)變化的結(jié)果。turn后面接名詞時常不加冠詞，而become后接名詞時則加冠詞。
In autumn the leaves on the trees all turn yellow.秋天樹上的葉子都變黃了。
Five years later, he turned doctor.= Five years later, he became a doctor.
五年后他成了一名醫(yī)生。
高二下英語知識點：persuade, advise
兩個詞都有“勸”之意，persuade表示結(jié)果，advise只強調(diào)動作。
We advised (or: tried to persuade) him to stop talking,but hc refused.
我們勸(試圖勸服)他別談了但他不聽。
I persuade him to stop smoking. tie now looks better.
我勸服他戒了煙?，F(xiàn)在他看上去更健康了。
[注意] persuade 表示“說服某人做/不做某事”除了persuade sb. to / not to do...結(jié)構(gòu)，還有persuade sb. into doing sth. / out of doing sth. 如：
He persuaded me into leaving soon.
他勸服我馬上離開。
