雅思大作文范文:環(huán)境、資源與交通問題
The fast increase in the number of cars have broughtalong many related problems which are well worthour greatest attention.
First of all, urban traffic is getting from bad to worse. I’d like to cite my own experience as anexample. Five years ago, it took me about 30 minutes to drive from home to office. One yearlater, I needed to spend about 40 minutes on the way. Then two years later, I had to start outfrom home at least 1 hour earlier in order to get to my office on good time for work. And then, since last year, it has just been too normal for me to spend about one and half hours to makeit. The traffic just moves like a worm!
Second, with the ever growing number of cars, air quality in urban areas is deteriorating witheach passing day. We used to see clear blue sky and breathe fresh air, but now this would be areal luxury. Car exhaust has seriously polluted the air and people’s health is greatlyendangered. It seems certain that we human beings have already made a fatal mistake thatcould only be remedied by bringing down the number of cars hugely.
Sure, we can not deny the fact that cars have brought us speed, comfort and greatermobility. However, these have already been history. We are suffering much more from carsthan benefiting from them. Our health conditions are going down rapidly both due to thepolluted air that we have to breathe every second and our lack of exercise as a result of theever increasing amount of time we have to spend behind the wheel!
What can we do? From the foregoing discussion, I’m sure we have already found a solution: todiscourage people to use cars! I know very well that science and technology are alsodeveloping very fast and there might be better solutions coming up in the future, but, beforethat, let’s first salvage ourselves in such a passive way!
雅思大作文范文:野生動物保護(hù)
Biological diversity has never been sothreatened as it is today as a result of the processof human civilization. The various forms of pressurecreated by human activity have destroyed naturalbalance, led to the deterioration of natural habitats, genetic erosion and the rarity, evendisappearance, of a number of plant and animalspecies.
As the pace of civilization accelerates, more people, taking more space, needing to use morenatural resources, engaging in ever-growing consumption, impose severe deterioration onthe habitat of animals. An increasing number of people come to realize that the disappearanceof animals will result in serious threat to the equilibrium of ecosystem. Simply put, theextinction of hawks, a rat-eating bird seen in many regions, will result in the rapidpropagation of rats. And rats, further, will destroy the prairies and threaten the other animalslike gazelles, zebras and others, who live on grass and green lands. The coexistence of animalsand human beings creates perfect harmony and brings about the vividness to our planet.
It is hard to imagine what our world would be like without animals. Sociologists also pointout that the disappearance of animals can cause social and economic problems. Animal trade,as a supporting sector to the world economy, was very active before. However, the situation isbeyond control since animal trade is very profitable and alluring. Many species cannotescape the adversity of being killed.
Certainly, our diet cannot be without meat. There are living stocks, which can provide uswith sufficient and nutritious produce. Therefore, we need not to resort to wild animals, especially the endangered ones. To protect animals is to protect our living environment.Every individual should join efforts to keep the diversity of animals.
雅思大作文范文:改善環(huán)境質(zhì)量
Nowadays, an increasing number of people are concerned about environmental protectionand regard it as one of the most important challenges. However, whether only governmentsand big firms have resources and powers to preserve our environment is a controversialissue. My view is that every single citizen could also make a huge difference.
In the first place, it is clear that it is human activities that have the greatest impactthroughout the history. Both environment contamination and conservation are the long-term process, and no single government or big company can meet this challenge alone. Sowhoever created the problem should be responsible for solving it; environment protectionneeds every one of us to continuously participate in.
Moreover, the public's wills and behaviors have critical influence on government's policiesand companies' strategies. For example, if everyone says “no” to plastic shopping bags andpaper cups, the companies that manufacture such products will switch to environmental-friendly substitutes in order to survive in the market.
However, that is not to say that governments and large companies cannot positivelycontribute. Indeed, governments can enact laws and introduce programs to raise the public'slow-carbon awareness; companies can promote green products to change the public'sconsuming habits. But they also need every citizen's appreciation and support to bring goodresults.
In sum, no effort is too small when we are protecting the environment. Meanwhile, localauthorities and organizations must shoulder their responsibility to develop low-carboneconomy at the macro level. Only by doing so can we assure that we could hand this beautifulplanet to our next generation and the next generation after.
